SKI PASS DEALS

(The industry is consolidating. And resort policies are changing.)

EPIC: If you live in the Front Range, CO, Lake Tahoe, CA, or anywhere in the Northeast, this is the pass for you. Considering the absurd cost for day tickets at Vail Resorts, and the requirement for reservations this year, an annual pass can pay for itself with just a few weekend visits, or one long trip.

IKON: This pass covers a wide range of ski resorts across North America. Comparable in price and resort options to Epic, there’s plenty of options to choose from. The decision comes down to where you live, which trips you plan on, and what the rest of your crew is purchasing.
MOUNTAIN COLLECTIVE: At under $500, this is a cheaper option, if your preferred resorts are covered. You get 2 free days, with discounts after that, at over 20 global ski destinations, including many of the most desirable locations. If you plan accordingly, this can be a great value.

Powder Alliance: A unique collaborative model, if you buy a season pass at any of the 18 participating resorts, you get 3 reciprocal days at the other destinations. The list includes some popular mountains worldwide, who have resisted joining one of the major ski pass packages.

INDY: Multiple days at 50 small, independent ski resorts for $199. That’s $2 per visit, if you have nothing better to do this winter, and don’t mind putting a few miles on the car. These destinations are generally remote, quaint, and unpredictable. Let the adventure begin.
